Open Boards and Commissions seats
Do you live in Champaign? The City of Champaign currently has open seats on several Boards and Commissions. These volunteer positions provide residents with a voice in the development of our community. Current vacancies include (descriptions courtesy of the City of Champaign website):
- Plan Commission (1 opening)
- Zoning Board of Appeals – Alternate Member (1 opening)
- Subcommittee of the Human Relations Commission. The City is seeking citizens to serve on a Human Relations Commission Subcommittee with the review of citizen complaints involving police. The Subcommittee will determine whether an investigation is complete, ask questions and/or request additional information, and recommend whether the Chief of Police accepts or rejects the investigative findings. - Internal Police Use of Force Review Committee. The City seeks citizens who are interested in serving on the internal police department Use of Force Review Committee. The Police Department utilizes this committee to review all officer use of force, regardless of whether a citizen complaint was filed. This Committee will be appointed by Police Chief Cobb.
