Illegal: Reflections of an Undocumented Immigrant

  • Champaign Public Library 200 West Green Street Champaign, IL, 61820 United States (map)

José Ángel N. entered the U.S. in 1993, via a tunnel from Tijuana to San Diego. He traveled to Chicago, where he found work, earned his GED, and graduated from college and graduate school. But despite his education and his well-paying job, his lack of legal documentation became a barrier. José Ángel will discuss his experiences and read from his book, "Illegal: Reflections of an Undocumented Immigrant," published by the University of Illinois Press. A book signing will follow. For adults.
